Containment Systems

DDT Liners have been installing Geomembrane Liners & Covers caustic-storage-bladders-complete-x-2-698-x-524for Containment Reservoirs since 1990 (N.B. These systems are sometimes referred to as “bladders”, or “in-ground tanks”, or “geo-tanks”.)

Compared to concrete and/or steel tank containment systems, using Flexible Membrane  (bladder) Systems will usually be much more economical, when larger volumes/capacity are involved.

We have installed such systems for the protected  containment of bulk quantities of:

  • Potable Water
  • Irrigation Watertcclandfillweb
  • Water for intensively housed pigs or poultry
  • Effluent
  • Molasses
  • Dunder
  • Caustic Soda
  • Landfill

Sometimes the fluids being contained are there to "digest” – and produce p8080436-harwood-sugar-milling “bio-gas”, which is then drawn off and flared or used to power gas turbine engines, or to fuel boilers, etc.

Depending on the nature of the fluid to be contained, the liner and cover systems may be simple single layers, or they can be multi-layered, with provision for leakage detection and control; and if required, covers may be multi-layered for insulation.

Typically rainwater is removed from the floating covers utilising simple stapylton-landfill-cell4-031submersible pumps located in the “defined sumps”.

Membrane materials selected for Containment Systems:

  • Liners are typically HDPE – and are often underlain by  a non-woven geotextile, or even a GCL
  • Covers are typically a choice from HDPE,  LDPE, or  Reinforced  Polypropylene

DDT Liners can arrange all phases of these works......from Design, Earthworks, Plumbing/Pipework, through to the Geomembrane Liner & Cover Installation.........even the fencing.  OR we can just concentrate on the Geomembrane stage, working in harmony with your chosen contractors for the other aspects of the job
